How to chose good lash stylist? Well, it is not that easy. I too made some mistakes and learnt the hard way. I hope you won't have to.
Lash extensions are very popular these days but it is not alwasy easy to find lash technician aware of all know hows, professionally trained. It is precise work and takes a ot lot of practice.
My first experince with lash extensions in Zug Switzerland was terrible although I visited someone who was recommneded to me by one of my dear clients.
Lash extesions can go wrong if you don't look at the portfolio and if you don't know what you want. Although my lash extensions session was disappointing for many reasons (too thick, too close to the skin and therefore painful and so on) at least I know I am better than my competitors in Zug and I offer true work which is l ight, looks natural (if this is what you wish for) and does not damage your natural lashes. Lash extensions I offer in Zug are also soft to touch and comfortable to wear. Although I don't know much about Kim Kardashian style application and I don't offer mega volume (yet) I know well what kind of quality I want to offer to my clients and what is unacceptable.
Hygiene - sanitized hands and tools are as important as right type of glue and correct application. When someone is working around your eyes you really should be sure the tools are sanitized.
Trainings and certification - Hands on experience is very important here and if you are not sure you can ask if your chosen technician went through proper trainings or perhaps learnt it from a video... Videos are useful but they don't replace proper training, believe me.
Time - The process of full lash application normally takes about 2,5-3 hours and this is also for very experienced stylist. We apply 1 or more fake lashes to each natural lash so it can't be done quickly. We need enough time for adhesive to dry. If we go too fast the lashes could stick together which is messy and very uncomfortable to wear. Good things take time.Lash extensions is and should be very detailed, precise work.
Self care is extremely important. This is particularly true for those of us living fast-paced lives where we never seem to have time for anything. You could be an artist working on commission deadlines, a sales clerk going about a daily grind or a high functioning professional; juggling high profile meetings with paper work. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, if you aren’t careful, life today can burn you out!
